getting started

Where to start with AI
in your small business.

Everyone keeps telling you to use AI. Nobody tells you where to actually start. So here's the honest version. What AI really is, where it's worth it, and where it isn't. No jargon.

the big misconception

AI isn't ChatGPT.

Most owners I talk to think using AI in their business means asking ChatGPT a question.

I don't blame them. That's what everyone sees.

But that's a tiny corner of it.

The AI worth your time runs in the background. It answers the calls you miss. It follows up with the leads you forgot. It sends the invoice you keep putting off.

You don't sit there prompting it. It just works while you do something else.

That's the difference. And it's the whole point.

why now

AI is the new website.

Remember when businesses hired someone to figure out if they even needed a website?

That was 2005.

"Do we really need one?" "What would it even do for us?" "Sounds expensive and complicated."

Every business has one now. Because they had to. Or they got left behind.

The same thing is happening with AI. Same three questions. Same hesitation.

The difference is the window is smaller this time. Your competitors aren't waiting.

the honest part

You might not even need AI.

This is the part nobody selling you AI will say.

Half the time, you don't need AI. You need a simple automation.

Need to follow up with leads who didn't book? You don't need AI.

Need to send reminders so people actually show up? You don't need AI.

Need to chase old customers who went quiet? Still no AI.

A simple sequence of actions does it. Cheaper and faster.

My old lecturer drilled one thing into me. Keep it simple.

So that's how I look at your business. What's the simplest thing that takes the most off your plate. Sometimes that's AI. Sometimes it isn't. I'll tell you either way.

where to start

Start with what you hate doing.

Not with the tech. Never with the tech. Start with the jobs that eat your week and drain you, then work backwards. These are the ones small businesses hand over first.

Missed and after-hours calls

The phone rings while you're on a job or asleep, and it goes to voicemail. That's a lost customer. AI can pick up, screen it, and book it.

Following up with leads

Someone enquires, you get busy, and you never reply. Most sales are lost in the follow-up. This runs itself so nothing slips.

Booking and reminders

Back-and-forth to find a time, then no-shows when they forget. Automated booking and reminders quietly fix both.

Invoicing and admin

The work's done but the invoice waits for a free afternoon that never comes. Finished jobs can turn into invoices on their own.

The same questions, over and over

Hours a week answering the same handful of questions. An assistant that knows your business can handle them for you.

Copying data between tools

Retyping the same details into a spreadsheet, then your inbox, then your CRM. Nobody misses this one. It's the easiest to hand over.

The pattern is always the same. Find the task you dread. The one that's repetitive, eats time, and honestly doesn't need you.

That's where you start. One at a time. Not some big scary transformation. Just one job off your plate, then the next.

the simplest way in

One assessment.
A plain-english plan.

You don't have to figure this out on your own. That's what the assessment is for.

I spend time inside your business. Map how it actually runs. Find where AI, or a simple automation, takes the most off your plate. Then you get a plain-english plan of exactly where to start and what it's worth.

No clean data required. No tech team. That's my job, not yours.

Then, if it makes sense, I build it. The same person who wrote the plan. Not a salesperson, not a reseller. I'm an AI engineer at one of the biggest luxury car companies in the world, a certified AI consultant, and I have a degree in Computer Science with AI from a top 100 university. I don't just talk AI, I build it.

questions

Before you ask

Is AI just ChatGPT?

No. ChatGPT is one tiny corner of it. The AI worth your time runs in the background: it answers calls you miss, follows up with leads you forgot, sends the invoice you keep putting off. You don't sit there prompting it. It just works while you do something else.

I'm not technical. Can I still use AI in my business?

Yes. You don't need to be technical and you don't need a tech team. That's my job, not yours. You tell me what eats your week, I handle the build.

Isn't AI expensive and complicated?

Not always. Half the time you don't need AI at all, you need a simple automation, which is cheaper and faster. The assessment tells you which one you actually need before you spend anything on building.

Do I need clean data or special software first?

No. You work with what you already have. Sorting out the technical side is the whole point of the assessment. You don't prepare anything.

How do I actually start with AI?

Don't start with the tech. Start with the job you hate doing, the one that's repetitive and doesn't really need you. That's where AI or a simple automation pays off first. The assessment maps how your business runs and gives you a plain-english plan of exactly where to begin.

where to start

The best place to start
is one conversation.

You don't need to know the answer before we talk. That's the whole point. Book the assessment and we'll find your starting point together. If you run a commercial cleaning company, here's what we've already built for that.
